I use a HAAS bar feeder and only use the pushrods. It will alarm out if it hits something solid. You could make up a spring loaded plunger for the end of the pushrod if you have to feed into a solid stop. I always leave extra material after the push to allow facing. Sometimes the first part coming off a newly loaded bar feeds out too far.
